Katharine jones
Acting Director
Katharine Jones was appointed Acting Director of St Francis Leprosy Guild in April 2023, following the departure of its former CEO, Clare McIntosh. She is responsible for SFLG's day-to-day operations with a special focus on fundraising and data management. She is a communications specialist and has worked with St Francis Leprosy Guild since 2021. She has designed and develops SFLG's website, news flow and PR activities . |
Background and experience
Before working with SFLG, Katharine worked for four years in advocacy and communications for The Leprosy Mission England and Wales (TLMEW). It was at TLMEW that she encountered SFLG through its joint advocacy initiative with other other leprosy NGOs in the UK. The initiative targeted the UK government for investment in and awareness of leprosy. The approach, spearheaded by SFLG's former Chair, Michael Forbes Smith, was ultimately thwarted by COVID-19.
Before working for TLMEW, Katharine worked for ILEP (the anti-leprosy federation) in Geneva. Prior to working with ILEP, she worked in PR and communications for the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry for 20 years.

Katharine is a Christian. She lives in North Norfolk and is married to the musician and conductor, Mark Jones. During her spare time, she sings in Holt St Andrew church choir, is Chair of North Norfolk Chamber Opera and treasurer and trustee of Upper Sheringham, Village Hall Committee.
