fundraising for a leprosy free world

We are so glad that you'd like to fundraise for children affected by leprosy.
If you are a school or club or other group, there's lots to enjoy and different ways to help. Please read on to find out more.

This is Francis. He is smiling now because he is cured of leprosy thanks to kind people like you.
Did you know? Every year, thousands of children are diagnosed with leprosy. Last year, 9,052 children were diagnosed with leprosy. 368 of those children had disabilities caused by leprosy. We think the numbers might be even higher. Why? 1. Covid took away the healthcare needed by people with leprosy and, 2. people with leprosy can be hard to find. So, there's plenty to do to stop leprosy in its tracks, and with your help we can!

TRACE is what we do to stop leprosy in its tracks!
The best way to find and treat people with leprosy is by Active Case-Finding or "ACF." How does ACF work? Click on the icons to find out.
door-to-door skin surveys and assessment
skin surveys in schools
community-based skin camps
contact tracing
raising awareness and advocacy
referral to hospital or clinic for treatment
We're very good at ACF. Your fundraising could help us do more ACF, find and treat more people with leprosy and help stop leprosy in its tracks.

This is Saraya, from Uganda, aged 10, being screened for leprosy. She hopes to go to school and make friends. We'd like to screen more children like Saraya for leprosy using ACF.
The boys and girls below have been left by their families at one of our leprosy centres in Uganda. They live very happily there. But it's really important that they can go to school and get an education, like you. In Uganda, children don't have to pay for school, but they do need a uniform and shoes, books and equipment, lunches and transport. Your fundraising could help these children go to school.

These girls and boys live at Aripea leprosy centre in Arua, Uganda - they would love to go to school - will you help them?

And it needn't stop there. You could dance, skip, swim, knit, jump, wash cars, have a raffle or anything that is fun, and if you give me a shout, I am sure that I can find some badges, stickers or pens for you. Good luck. I can't wait to hear from you. Eileen.
