Bidding prayeRs for the anniversary mass

Lord, we remember the four million people across the world living with disabilities caused by leprosy, whether it be blindness, lost limbs, or painful conditions such as ulcers. We ask that you comfort them through their suffering, relief their pain and quench their loneliness.

Lord in your mercy, Hear our Prayer

We think of the four million people in the world who today unknowingly have contracted leprosy.  We ask that you help us to find them and treat them, so that they may be relieved of a life of hardship.

Lord in your mercy, Hear our prayer.

We think of all those being treated for leprosy today. We pray that they will complete their treatment, that their health be restored, and that they will be welcomed back into their communities.

Lord in your mercy, Hear our prayer.

Father, we thank you for many donors that have contributed so generously to the Guild over the last 125 years enabling us to keep doing this vital work.  Even through Covid we thank you that funding has continued ensuing that our support to our partners did not reduce.  We remember particularly the legators whose names are recorded in our Book of Remembrance who in their final action on earth remembered people affected by leprosy and the work of the Guild.  We say together

Eternal Rest grant on to them O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them, may they rest in peace, Amen.  May their souls and the souls of all the Faithful Departed rest in peace.

Lord, we think of the many people across the world working to help people with leprosy.  We think in particularly of our Missionaries, of whom we are so proud, who have committed their lives to relieve the suffering of others.  We ask that you look after them, giving them fervor to continue in their Mission, and we beseech the help of Mary our Mother in continuing to guide them and show us the way to you, as we pray,

Hail Mary, Full of Grace, the Lord is with thee.  Blessed art thou among women and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.  Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us now and at the hour of our death.  Amen.
