News from the frontline

We hope you enjoy our new Spring edition of News from the Frontline, which highlights some of the fantastic work that is happening thanks to your generous donations. 

We are delighted to report on the continuing success of our Active Case-Finding projects which have screened almost half a million people for leprosy in impoverished communities.
                                
If you follow us on social media or have “opted in” to receive emails from us, you may have read about our World Leprosy Day campaign for 2024. 
 
Dr Tony Lopez Gonzalez may be a familiar name to some of our supporters. The hospital boat that she founded over thirty years ago still looks after the many communities who live along the Purus River. 
 
Some of our longstanding supporters may have known or even met Gwen Sankey. She was our President from 1995 until 2015. Sadly, we heard of Gwen’s death in November last year. Gwen would have been the first to acknowledge that St Francis Leprosy Guild is nothing without its supporters. We feel privileged to have the support of so many kind and generous people like you.

The end of leprosy is within sight, and I hope you will stay with us as we travel that final mile."
