For the past two years we have fielded a team of runners and 'power walkers' for the London 10K Run in July. Unlike the London Marathon, this is not a race but
a chance to exercise. 10 kilometers (6.25 miles) is not too
arduous and the atmosphere is wonderful. If you are supporting
a charity, you are allowed to ‘power walk’ - this
means you must complete the course in under two hours.
Our team and our band of supporters wore St Francis Leprosy Guild T shirts and we are grateful to them both
for the useful funds they raised from their many sponsors
and for extending awareness that leprosy is not a thing of
the past but a real health problem of today.
A big ‘thank you’ to them all!
The 2009 London 10K Run was on Sunday 12th July
The course started in Piccadilly, went along the Embankment towards Tower Bridge and finished in Whitehall, passing many London landmarks along the way. We had 11 runners taking part, supporting our work with leprosy sufferers.
It is not too late to donate, either through one of the Justgiving links below or to Eric Williams, St Francis Leprosy Guild, 73 St Charles Square, London W10 6EJ Tel: 020 8969 1345
