MONEY
This is a subject dear to most of us. We all dream of wining
the pools or lottery, and the Guild is no exception. Sometimes the
sums it can afford to send out seem pitifully small in relation
to the problems they are meant to alleviate. Money isn't everything,
but it does help! However any donations you make to the Guild can
be increased, at no extra cost to youself, by making your donation
under Gift Aid.
Basically, any and every gift of money will have the potential for
tax recovery, provided that the giver does pay income tax at the
basic rate. All that is required is that you fill out a Gift Aid
form which declares your name and address and the amount donated.
Note that it is not even obligatory to sign it. You can download
a Gift Aid from by Clicking here.
There is a standing order form attached for regular donations if
you so wish. Please return the forms to the Guild. Gift Aid increases
your contribution by 28% so donations should always be made in this
form if possible.
These new regulations should not affect those of you who are already
paying by Covenant, so there's no need to change your arrangements.
We will keep our benefactors informed as and when the new regulations
are made clear. In the meantime we ask you to help us in whatever
way you can:
Through Prayer:
Pray daily for all who suffer from leprosy and for those who look
after them.
By Telling Others:
Tell your family and friends about this web site. Will your Parish
Priest let you leave copies of the Annual Report at the back of
the church? Will he allow a special appeal at Sunday Masses?
By Giving Money:
As well as giving money now in your lifetime, you may wish to consider
a legacy to St Francis Leprosy Guild. Any money bequeathed to charities
is disregarded in calculating an estate's value for Inheritance
Tax.
If you wish to donate now, you can do so by cash, cheque or credit
card. Cheques should be made out to "St Francis Leprosy Guild".
Donations should be sent to the address below.
(We hope to enable you to donate direct from this web site in the
near future. Please check back regularly for details.)
