Khon Kaen, Thailand

For many years we have supported St Joseph’s Home at Khon Kaen, Thailand. It now accommodates elderly people both with and without leprosy: no discrimination. Sister Cecile and her staff also run a community-based programme for elderly people in nearby villages. This involves medical and pastoral care, providing special footwear and encouraging self-help food production.

Seminars and social gatherings for in and out patients, are organised regularly at St Joseph’s and physical exercise is encouraged for good health. Students visit each week as part of their training, and children come on high days and holidays to bring extra life and enjoyment to the feasts.
